About Amy and Kristen

Kristen Yarker, MSc, RD started nutrition public speaking before she even became a dietitian – teaching classes while she was a Teaching Assistant at the University of British Columbia. Public speaking has been a consistent thread through her dynamic career – from teaching low-income groups about diabetes prevention when she worked in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, to presenting nutrition policy to stakeholder groups, such as Medical Health Officers, when she worked for the BC Ministry of Health. Known for her engaging speaking style and practical nutrition advice, Kristen uses public speaking (and media too) in her decade-long private practice.

Amy Yiu, RD  is a media and community dietitian, nutrition consultant, writer, speaker, and the founder of Libra Nutrition.   Amy has been the spokesperson of the Dietitians of Canada National Nutrition Month campaign for 6 years.  She and her team has published over 300 nutrition-related articles in multiple magazines and national newspapers including Ming Pao, Foodoir, Voices Weekly and Today Commercial News. She is a regular TV and radio talk show guest expert on nutritional segments. Amy enjoys mentoring aspiring young dietitians and sharing nutritional tips with others. In the past two years, she has conducted 20 community workshops and over 1500 people attended.
